CELINA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Celina Lake Festival is officially underway, and one group is bringing history to life in an interactive way.

At Harbor Point State Park, the group Troops in Town is preparing for its immersive event, The Battle of Grand Lake. Featuring military reenactments, landing crafts, vintage vehicles, and authentic gear, the event offers attendees a glimpse into the past.

New this year is a “Kids Beach Battle,” where children can go through a mock basic training before storming the beach themselves.“It’s just going to be a lot of interactive stuff for everybody,” said Mike Haines, vice president of Troops in Town. “For all the kids, we have toy weapons and uniforms they can try on and play with, and vehicles they can climb on.”

All activities are free and open to the public, including rides in amphibious military vehicles.
