Bath School Board Picks Dackin To Be Next Superintendent

The Bath Local School district Board of Education is announcing that they have completed their search for the replacement for Superintendent Dale Lewellen, who will be leaving the school district on July 31st.

The board intends to hire Rich Dackin, who is currently the district's Assistant Middle School Principal and Athletic Director.  Dackin has been employed by the Bath Schools as a teacher and administrator since 1997.  Dackin was picked from a field of 15 candidates that applied for the position.   The board will vote on hiring Dackin during their June 20th board meeting. Board President Timothy McKinney said, "We appreciate the interest from this strong field of candidates, and feel that with the selection of Mr. Dackin, Bath School will continue to grow, thrive, and succeed."

In April of this year, The Bath School Board accepted the resignation of Superintendent Dale Lewellen.

Lewellen is leaving his position with Bath Schools to take over as Superintendent at the Licking County Educational Center. Lewellen says a major factor in his decision was being able to get closer to his family in Licking County. Lewellen took over as superintendent for Bath Schools in the summer of 2011, coming from Pandora-Gilboa School District. .
