Employees at Beer Barrel Pizza's newest location are putting the finishing touches on the restaurant and are practicing one last time before opening to the public.
The restaurant and bar with two Lima area locations is branching out to St. Marys. The business officially opens Wednesday with a ribbon cutting followed by lunch service. Owner, John Heaphy says the company hired more than 100 people from the St. Marys area to staff the new site which includes a drive thru and large patio. Beer Barrel Pizza is just one of many businesses opening in St. Marys. Kohl's, Tractor Supply Company, and Buffalo Wild Wings have all set up shop within the last year. Heaphy says that makes St. Marys a logical choice for expansion.
The restaurant is located on Indiana Avenue in a shopping area which includes Kmart and JC Penney. A sneak peak benefit was held at the site over the weekend. More than $3,300 were raised for the food bank at Agape Ministries.
