Bluffton Physician suspended, charged with sexual imposition

A Bluffton doctor has been suspended after allegations surface concerning sexual misconduct with some of his patients.

The State Medical Board of Ohio has suspended Dr. James Gideon from practicing medicine until a hearing can be held. A previous hearing was held in the matter on June 14th where board members determined there was enough evidence to suspend him. According to documents, there were five female patients who claimed Dr. Gideon inappropriately touched them while undergoing an examination. A hearing in the matter has yet to be scheduled. In May, Dr. Gideon was charged in Lima Municipal Court with three counts of sexual imposition.

Up until his suspension, Dr. Gideon had practiced medicine at Northwest Ohio Rheumatology in Bluffton.
