Bluffton, OH (WLIO) - Holiday music filled the air in Bluffton Sunday afternoon, as the university students helped get everyone into the spirit of the season.
The band and choir performed their annual Holiday Concert. Both groups only had between 10 and 15 practices to get ready for their performance, because of their commitment to other concerts throughout the semester. Because it's Christmas, the students look forward to bringing a variety of music selections to the crowd.
“It is a Holiday Collage, as it is entitled. So, there is a variety of music. There is some very familiar sacred music and Christmas carols, there is a lot of just popular Christmas tunes,” says Roy Couch, Chair of the Bluffton University Music Department. “We’ve found that the audience really responds very well and gets them in the Christmas spirit.”
Bluffton University is also getting ready for their most well-known holiday performance "Handel's Messiah" on December 11th at 4 pm. This will be their 128th annual performance of Messiah and while tickets are free, people need to reserve seats by logging on to www.bluffton.edu/tickets.
