Ohio is set to receive nearly $13.9 million in grants for their railways from the U.S. Department of Transportation, with Lima getting a significant portion.
The Linking Lima Project will receive over $4.5 million for the Chicago, Ft. Wayne & Eastern Railroad (CFE) between Lima and Ft. Wayne, Indiana. The project's improvements will increase travel speeds. This will then allow increased shipment weights, including steel and agricultural products. The U.S. Federal Railroad Administration has selected 50 railway projects from 29 states to receive grants from the over $320 million budget.
