COLUMBUS GROVE, Ohio (WLIO) — The Columbus Grove Bulldogs remain perfect in Northwest Conference play after a dominant 38–0 shutout victory over Crestview on Friday night at Clymer Stadium.
Grove wasted no time setting the tone. Senior running back Trevon Baxter opened the scoring with a 39-yard touchdown run to give the Bulldogs an early 7–0 lead.
Moments later, Baxter made another highlight-reel play — this time on special teams. He fielded a punt at midfield, found a seam through the defense and sprinted to the end zone for his second score of the night.
Crestview struggled to find momentum against Grove’s aggressive defense. The Bulldogs forced a fumble, recovered by Gavin Barraza, and quickly turned it into points. Baxter capped off his stellar first half with a third touchdown, completing the hat trick to push Grove’s lead to 19–0.
Quarterback Landon Best added to the scoring with a touchdown pass to Gavin Baxter, sealing the Bulldogs’ fifth straight win.
With the victory, Columbus Grove stays unbeaten in the NWC, improving to 5–0 in conference play.
