LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - A great turnout at Westgate in support for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Held in Lima, the organization hosted their annual “Bowl for Kids' Sake" fundraiser in hopes to keep beneficial programs for kids in need. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a non-profit that focuses on pairing a teenager volunteer, or big, with a child, or little, to create a one-on-one supported relationship. This two-for-one event had friends and families bowling as well as supporting this organization. From kids to adults, all ages had fun bowling for the win.
"We focus on those one-to-one relationships, so we have younger school kiddos matched up with typically high schoolers, sometimes as young as 8th grade, though, and they have those one-to-one relationships. And, some of our school programs are able to carry multi-year relationships," says Errin Boyer, Development Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
The organization is looking for people and groups to participate in the bowl for kids’ event at Hillcrest Lanes in Kenton on April 11th. To find more information, check out their website.
