LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Lima Police Department has filed charges against the man who allegedly led them on a chase through Allen and Hardin County last week.

40-year-old Daniel Boutwell has been charged with failure to comply with a police officer. On the morning of May 27, a Lima police officer tried to do a traffic stop. Boutwell allegedly led officers on a chase through eastern Allen County. Officers called off the chase for safety concerns.

The vehicle was found abandoned in rural Hardin County, and was secured by Lima police for evidence. Hardin County deputies arrested Boutwell later that day on a bench warrant by a Hardin County judge for failure to appear for a domestic violence charge.

HARDIN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) - A Hardin County man was arrested following a high speed chase that started in Lima Wednesday morning.

According to the Lima Police Department, the person, whose name is not being released at this time, was arrested by Hardin County Sheriff's deputies Wednesday night. The chase started Wednesday morning when Lima police tried to do a traffic stop. The suspect took off and led officers on a chase around eastern Allen County. Officers ended the chase when it became too dangerous.

The suspect later abandoned the vehicle in Hardin County, and the suspect was later arrested by Hardin County deputies. The vehicle was secured by the Lima Police for evidence.

The police can release his name when he is formally charged for the incident.
