Friday September 20, 2024

0117 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a residence on Richey Road in Pleasant Township for a subject who was bleeding.

0129 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 224 in Hoaglin Township for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a cow.

0209 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Middle Point Wetzel Road in Washington Township to check the welfare of a resident.

0258 hrs. – Dispatched Middle Point Fire to a residence on Lincoln Highway in Ridge Township for a possible electrical fire.

0350 hrs. – Deputies spoke with a resident from Liberty Township on a complaint of a barking dog.

0421 hrs. – Deputies along with Ohio City Fire and EMS, and Van Wert Fire and EMS responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Mendon Road in York Township. Unit One was southbound on Mendon Rd. Just south of house number 18142 Mendon Rd., Unit One left the right side of the roadway striking a mailbox post, Unit One then struck two trees causing it to spin back onto the roadway. Unit One sustained disabling damage. Driver of Unit One was taken to the Van Wert Hospital for possible injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation. Unit One was a 2021 Ford Bronco driven by Leslie Ellen Weisenberger of Mendon.

0805 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Railroad Street in the Village of Middle Point for a complaint of trespassing.

0857 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Middle Point Wetzel Road in Washington Township for a report of an abandoned vehicle.

1342 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Ridge Township for a report of a person driving the wrong direction.

1423 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Towne Center Boulevard in the City of Van Wert for a report of a motor vehicle crash on private property. No injuries were reported.

1531 hrs. – Dispatched Wren EMS to a residence on Washington Street in the Village of Wren for a subject who was ill.

1628 hrs. – Deputies responded to a resident on Old Tile Factory Road in Pleasant Township to check an abandoned 911 call.

1640 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Jefferson Street in the Village of Ohio City for a complaint of juveniles riding a go-cart on the street.

1654 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Rockford Road in the Village of Willshire to check the welfare of a juvenile.

1727 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Lincoln Highway in Washington Township to check the property for a subject reported as being suicidal.

1806 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 127 in Liberty Township on a complaint of a road crew working with no traffic control or warning signs.

1818 hrs. – Deputies along with Ohio City Fire and EMS responded to an area of U.S. Route 127 in Liberty Township for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Unit One was south bound on US 127 near Wren Landeck Road. Driver of Unit One side swiped Unit Two before rear ending Unit Three. Driver of Unit One was transported to Ohio Health Van Wert. Unit One was a 2016 Jeep Gran Cherokee driven by Francisco Cuervo age 35 of Hicksville. Unit Two was a 2024 Peterbilt, and Unit Three was a 2001 Kenworth. No injuries were reported.

1913 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Middle Point Wetzel Road in Washington Township to check the welfare of a resident.

1936 hrs. – Dispatched Ohio City EMS to a residence on Washington Street in the Village of Ohio City for a subject who passed out.

2007 hrs. – Deputies along with Wren EMS responded to an area of State Route 49 in Harrison Township for a motor vehicle crash involving a deer. Unit One a 2016 Scion FRS driven by Tanner Norman of Liberty Township, was Northbound on St. Rt. 49 near Foster School Rd. when a deer entered the roadway causing Unit One to strike the deer on the front driver's side of the vehicle. The front airbags deployed in Unit One. All occupants of the vehicle were treated by Wren EMS on scene.

Saturday September 21, 2024

0023 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Middle Point Wetzel Road in Ridge Township to check the welfare of a resident.

0023 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Fife Road in Hoaglin Township for a motor vehicle crash involving a deer, no injuries were reported.

0252 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Central Street in the Village of Ohio City on a complaint of juveniles being out and being disorderly.

0938 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Monroe Street in the City of Van Wert to assist the Van Wert Police.

0940 hrs. – Deputies along with Middle Point Fire and EMS responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Carpenter Road in Washington Township. Unit One was traveling west bound on Carpenter Rd between Converse Roselm Rd and Middle Point Wetzel Rd. Unit One ran off the right side of the road three times, traveling through the corn field on the north side of the roadway through the fence at 20843 Carpenter Rd and crashed the passenger side of the Unit One into a tree. Unit One was a 2005 Mercury Sable driven by Alexander Gene Hefner age 19 of Washington Township. Hefner had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to Mercy Health in Lima.

1413 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Lincoln Highway in Washington Township to standby as a peace officer while property was retrieved.

1644 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Feasby Wisener Road in Tully Township to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

1721 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Van Horn Road in Tully Township for a complaint of theft.

2113 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Marsh Road in Ridge Township for a report of a suspicious vehicle.

2230 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Old Tile Factory Road in Pleasant Township for a report of a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was located.

2354 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Ringwald Road in Ridge Township on a complaint of trespassing.

Sunday September 22, 2024

0239 hrs. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a residence on Sidle Road in Pleasant Township for a subject with abdominal and shoulder pain.

1111 hrs. – Dispatched Middle Point EMS to a residence on Gilliland Road in Ridge Township for a subject possibly having a heart attack.

1159 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Wetzel Road in Hoaglin Township to standby as a peace officer while a subject retrieves property.

1302 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a residence on Vine Street in the Village of Convoy for a subject who had fallen.

1316 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Kear Road in the City of Van Wert on a report of a stray dog.

1332 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Kear Road in the City of Van Wert for a report of domestic violence. Bratton E. Lachmond age 35 of Van Wert was arrested for First Degree Misdemeanor Assault. He was issued a summons to appear and was released.

1334 hrs. – Deputies responded to the Ohio City Storage Units on Shane Street in the Village of Ohio City for a report of breaking and entering.

1459 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 224 in Harrison Township to assist Adams County Indiana in looking for a subject that was threatening to harm themselves.

1707 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Towne Center Boulevard in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.

2025 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Pleasant Township for a subject possibly having a heart attack.

2116 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 224 in Pleasant Township on a complaint of reckless driving.

2233 hrs. – Dispatched Middle Point EMS to a residence on Lincoln Highway in Washington Township for a subject who had fallen.
