School officials report that just after 2 AM Monday, personnel was notified of a fire alarm in the school building.
DELPHOS, OH (WLIO) -Â Delphos St. John's Schools were closed Monday after a fire breaks out in the school's maintenance area.
At around 4:25 PM Monday, Delphos St. John's announced that school will be closed again for Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024 due to continued lingering smoke and soot as well as for continued cleaning and scrubbing of the school.Â
School officials report that just after 2 AM Monday, personnel was notified of a fire alarm in the school building. Delphos and American Township Fire Departments responded and began putting out an electrical fire in maintenance. Damage was contained to that area, and clean-up and repairs continue.
There were no injuries, and the fire remains under investigation.
At around 4:25 PM Monday, Delphos St. John's announced that school will be closed again for Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024 due to continued lingering smoke and soot as well as for continued cleaning and scrubbing of the school. Pastor Jeffery Walker says that safety and air quality testing of the building will determine when staff and students head back to school. There were no injuries, and the fire remains under investigation.
