The school held its second-ever Blessed not Stressed day for junior high and high school students. It started back in 2018 as part of a mentoring program but was so successful that school officials decided to continue it. The teenage years can be tough as the students go through a lot of changes, mentally, physically, and emotionally. So the whole day is geared to be stress-free, and filled with sessions about different outlets that they can use to help melt the stress away.

“I just hope today that they find one or two coping skills that work for them,” says Lynette Haehn Delphos St. John School Guidance Counselor. “They may have went through 11 different sessions today and realized that maybe CrossFit didn’t work for them, or maybe the art isn’t their thing. Then maybe they learn ways to that music ministry may be related to them, or we talked about volunteerism in another group, and maybe that hit home to them. So they take one or two coping skills with them that they could take into their adulthood when life gets stressful.”

St. John's holds the Blessed not Stressed event every four years as a part of Positive Addiction Day.
