LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - An electrical issue could be to blame for a house fire on the south side of Lima.

According to the Lima Fire Department, crews were called out just after eleven thirty this morning to 7-35 east third street for reports of heavy smoke.  When the first engine arrived, firefighters saw flames coming from the side of the home.

Electrical dryer issue suspected in South Lima house fire

No one was in the home when the fire started, then a second alarm was called and Shawnee Township was brought in for assistance. The blaze was quickly contained, and fire investigators say an electrical issue with a dryer is possibly the cause of the fire.

"A lot of memories gone, and there's a lot of stress going. I lost everything so that's it," says Colleen Hall, owner of the home.

The early estimates have the damage valued around $25,000. The red cross was called in to help the family that lived in the home.  The family will soon be putting together a Go Fund Me for support on the damage.
