OHIO (WLIO) - The National Weather Service has confirmed that four tornadoes hit the central part of Ohio overnight.
Investigators from the National Weather Service in Wilmington say the tornadoes were along the I-70 corridor, from western Ohio to just east of Columbus. Two of the tornadoes were categorized as EF-2, with wind speeds between 111 and 135 miles per hour. The other two were labeled as EF-1, with wind speeds of between 86 and 110 miles per hour.
The storm damaged many homes, uprooted trees, and took out power to thousands of residents. The Wright-Patterson Air Force Base had several buildings damaged. The airport in Madison County also sustained heavy damage.
