ALLEN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) - With the Fourth of July around the corner, 61 million Americans are expected to hit the road.
The peak travel window stretches from Saturday, June 28, to Sunday, July 6. AAA says this year’s travel boom is partly thanks to the way the calendar falls, giving many Americans a long holiday weekend.
“As we're getting ready for this holiday season, make sure you check your vehicles. Check your coolant, check all your fluids, check your tires. Those are the things that really do get affected in this heat. And of course, make sure you have your AAA card handy,” says Cindy Nelson from the Lima AAA office.
To beat congestion, AAA recommends starting your drive early in the morning or waiting until later in the evening.
