The weekly farmer's market was open for business this morning in Bluffton. This is the market's 11th season in Bluffton. It features a wide variety of items, from produce to pies to popcorn. They expected around 500 or 600 people to attend. There are 30 local vendors selling at the market, and more to come with the summer and fall produce, like sweet corn and melons. All of these vendors are chosen for the products they can bring to the community.
"We try to look for people that are growing and producing their own product, we don't want this to turn into a craft show. Nothing against the crafts, but we have a good market here, it's what we've been doing, we try to keep it to the local, home-grown, home-produced products," said Greg Probst, manager for the Bluffton farmer's market.
The Bluffton farmer's market is every Saturday morning through the end of October.
