LIMA, OHIO (WLIO) - Mercy Health-St. Rita's and the Bradfield Community Center teamed up for the second year to host “Giving Thanks the Mercy Way.”
Both organizations are glad they can put on this event to promote health and a strong and loving community.
The event moved to Lima Senior and had grown in its second year, with more businesses and agencies on site talking about people’s benefits and the resources they offer. Mercy Health resident doctors tested people’s blood pressure and other vitals and told them about the risks of hypertension and diabetes. Both organizations are glad they can put on this event to promote health and a strong and loving community.
“It is actually overwhelming in a great way. I think sometimes people forget that you are able to do so much in the community by just having the heart posture of Christ and being able to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the community. It just makes me feel great that I am serving in a community that loves and wants to see change,” says Anisha Hale, Community Health Coordinator, Mercy Health-St. Rita’s.
They also had over 240 coats to give away, and people could also take home laundry soap and softener from Procter & Gamble and a turkey breast from Cooper Farms.
