LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Groupie Movie Series kicked off their season on Sunday with a showing of Disney's Aladdin.
Families came out to the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center to enjoy the 1992 film on a 60 foot screen, the largest in the Lima area. The series is all about offering films that parents and kids can enjoy together. Many of the movies shown came out a couple decades ago, and give parents the chance to show their kids the classics that they enjoyed at their age.
Tickets are kept cheap so that even when money is tight, the Groupie Movie Series stays accessible for families.
"I heard someone talking the other day, just saying, 'It's only $5 dollars to get into the show? We can take the whole family!' So it's just such a nice cost effective way to take your whole family out and experience a great afternoon so close to home," said Carmen Cecala-Wells, the Director of Development for the Civic Center Foundation.
The next Groupie Movie will be Frozen, playing at 3pm on Thursday, Dec. 28th.
