FINDLAY, Ohio (WLIO) — A domestic violence call turned into a seven-hour standoff with law enforcement in Findlay.
Michael Thompson, 52, is facing charges of domestic violence and intimidation of a public servant following an incident that began at 6 p.m. Friday.
Officers with the Findlay Police Department were called to 150 Laquineo St. for a report of domestic violence. According to authorities, Thompson allegedly pulled out a handgun and pointed it at officers after they arrived.
Police were able to get the victim to safety and established a perimeter around the residence.
Authorities said Thompson refused to communicate with officers for several hours. Around 1 a.m. Saturday, the Findlay Police Crisis Management Team and a K-9 officer entered the home and detained Thompson using force.
Thompson was treated for injuries at a local hospital before being transported to the Hancock County Jail.
Police said the victim did not suffer any serious injuries during the domestic violence incident.
