FINDLAY, Ohio (WLIO)- This week, the University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum is bringing students into the world of illustration at its annual art camp.
Open to students in grades four through eight, the camp focuses on teaching a range of art techniques and mediums. This year’s theme is “Fantasy,” with projects ranging from clay sculptures to character collages.
“They learn from professional art teachers throughout the community that come in here, and they learn about all different types of art. We have collage, we have watercolor, we have black light painting, we have clay. We have a bunch of different things that kids normally don’t get to do, which is very exciting, and they get to learn from these professionals,” said Amanda Davidson Johnston, assistant director, Mazza Museum.
This year’s camp theme, “Fantasy,” draws inspiration from the museum’s current exhibit, “The Enchanted Brush.” The exhibit remains on display through Aug. 29.
