Hecox pleads not guilty to charges related to Van Wert stabbing

An Illinois man faces charges for trying to kill another man in Van Wert County.

David Hecox of Pittsfield, Illinois has pleaded not guilty to two counts of attempted murder and one count of felonious assault. Court documents state on June 23, he allegedly tried killing Joshua Dangler with a knife. He is being held in the Van Wert County Jail on a bond of $500,000. Hecox has a pretrial scheduled for Aug. 7.
