ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) -Â Third-grade students at Heritage Elementary School had a unique learning experience Friday afternoon.
They explored the human body through virtual reality. As part of their ongoing study of the human body, the students have been learning about various topics such as the skeletal muscles, organs, and nervous and muscle systems. To make their learning journey more engaging and interactive, the students have been participating in weekly special projects, and Friday's project was all about virtual reality.
"It has the eye muscles, so they can go into the eyes and see how they work. Today, they're able to look at the neck muscles, the hip muscles, and how on a playground, we would use those muscles every day. As they're done looking at the muscles, they are writing it down and putting it up on a poster so they can kind of connect that knowledge to what they're doing." explained Jessica Hall, a Heritage Elementary Second and Third Grade English Language Arts Teacher.
The virtual reality lesson is a fun and interactive way that Mrs. Hall is helping her students learn, and she will continue to do so for the rest of the school year.
