A Convoy man and his defense counsel will get more time to prepare for an upcoming trial. 38-year-old James Hershberger appeared in Allen County Common Pleas Court for his first pre-trial.
Hershberger signed a time waiver to give his attorney more than the standard 90 days to prepare for trial. Hershberger is charged with one count each of Rape, Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor and Sexual Battery. He was facing human trafficking charges when he was arrested in April before the grand jury issued the new charges. Hershberger’s next pre-trial is July 31st and his trial is now scheduled for October 21st.
