Human Trafficking Survivor Helping Other Victims Move Past their Tragic Past

Thursday night we aired a story that talked about a survivor of human trafficking, and her effort to help others in the same situation.

If you haven't heard the story of Jennifer Kempton, she was forced to have sex with men, and the man who forced her into human trafficking made her get a tattoo to let her know who she belonged to. Now she has created an organization that is helping others who were branded with a tattoo, get it covered to help them move past their tragic experiences.

She shared her story with members of a local service club Thursday night.  But during our story about her talk last night, we misrepresented tragic events of her life and made sound like she was a willing participant in these act, which is furthest from the truth.

She was a victim and is a survivor and needs to be commended for her efforts to help other who have worn the brand of human trafficking.  We are sorry for the misunderstanding and applaud her efforts to help other survivors of human trafficking.
