The May Primary is next week and Johnny Apple Seed Metropolitan Park District Executive Director, Kevin Haver is still getting the word out about their levy.
Haver spoke to the Lima Exchange Club about the 3- quarter mill renewal levy and how essential it is to keeping the gates open at the 12 parks in the district. The levy is no new money and it actually generates less than when it was initiated in 1993. Haver says recent state cuts have made it harder to maintain the parks and people forget that it takes money to do so.
Haver also says the district has put all major projects on hold to be good stewards of taxpayers money.
