A Van Wert man is going to prison for attempting to kill his ex-wife and two other people with a knife.
25 year old Michael Keipper was sentenced to a total of 15 years after pleading guilty to attempted murder, aggravated burglary and two counts of felonious assault. Another count of felonious assault was dropped as part of the plea deal.
According to police reports, on October 26th, Keipper went to a home at the corner of Wall and Main Street in Van Wert, and assaulted at the time his wife Megan Gillette, her alleged boyfriend Kody Detwiler, and a neighbor with a knife. The court also ordered to pay restitution to Detwiler for nearly 51,000 dollars.
