Kenton Dog Park
Maddi Kugel may only be 10-years-old, but it was her idea and ambition that led to Kenton's first and only dog park (located at the corner of Riverside Drive and Leighton St.). Maddi received a dog around Christmas and wanted to have a dog party. The only problem was, Kenton didn't have a dog park. Maddi's grandmother took her to a Parks and Recreation Meeting, and then to city council. Council and committee members liked what they heard, and agreed to help Maddi build a dog park.

Maddi's family and friends are not the only ones surprised and proud, as Mayor Randy Manns is amazed by Maddi's efforts and passion. On Thursday, P&G employees volunteered labor and material for an obstacle course within the fenced in areas.

Maddi's effort to get a dog park, and the support of the community, has even inspired nearby community members. Rhonda Crouse heard about Maddi's determination and passion, and became inspired to do the same in her own town. Crouse is now in the process of working with Ada Village Council Members to build a similar dog park at War Memorial Park in Ada.
