Kids Take OSU Lima

While Ohio State Lima students are enjoying being away from campus, kids are putting the empty campus to good use.

Summer is in full swing at Ohio State Lima. The campus welcomed 125 kids from the City of Lima Playground Program, to enjoy the park-like campus and spend the day outside. The kids participate in different activities throughout the day including wiffle ball, team building games, crafts and theater or earth science.

According to Director of Student Life, Shane McCrory, "It's part of our “we serve” initiative, so every year OSU Lima pledges to donate 5000 volunteer hours to local community. So this is just one of the things we do, we volunteer, work with local kids within the community, get them out to campus and let them see what Ohio State Lima is all about."

The director says his favorite part of the day is watching the kids learn and strategize different games, he also hopes kids enjoy being able to see what a college campus is like.
