The City of Delphos lost hundreds of job a few years ago with the closing of I&K Distributors and Reser's Fine Foods. However, Lakeview Farms is offsetting some of that loss with a major expansion. Now the successful company has a new owner.
Nine months ago, Lakeview Farms announced a major expansion. The Delphos company was adding new production lines and bringing 200 additional jobs to Delphos. Because of the growth, the company was also moving into the recently emptied I&K building.
So far, the company has hired about 130 people to fill those new jobs and the rest are expected to be filled by May. Orientation is actually underway for some of the new recruits. And the company recently acquired future food brands, A maker of seafood dips. However, the number of jobs moving to Delphos because of that expansion has not been determined.
In the wake of those major changes, another major change. Lakeview Farms is being bought by Texas-based investment group, Sequel Holdings.
Lakeview president and CEO Gene Graves will continue his role with the company and says the change in ownership will not impact the day to day operations of the facility and its employees.
