Let’s Back the Blue hosts first Cops and Hot Rodders Car Show

CRIDERSVILLE, Ohio (WLIO) — An Auglaize County nonprofit is working to support local law enforcement officers and first responders.

Let’s Back the Blue held its first Cops and Hot Rodders Car Show at Midwest Shooting Center. The event featured numerous cars and trucks on display, along with other activities at the shooting center’s ranges.

The event also included 50-50 and raffle drawings. Some of the money raised will help bring national speaker Travis Howze to the area in September to speak with first responders about PTSD and mental wellness, which continues the organization’s mission to support first responders.

“Law enforcement can be a career which is both rewarding and frustrating at the same time and it's really great for law enforcement to know that the community is behind them and that was our main mission to show support while building bonds between law enforcement and the communities they serve. So, to see people come out, it's just a really good thing especially for an inaugural event like this,” says Anne Niemeyer, Let’s Back the Blue.

The organization also presented more than 20 awards for the top vehicles, including one honoring a veteran.
