LIMA, OH (WLIO) - It's just two months away and plans are coming together for a multitude of activities around the region for the solar eclipse.
The Lima-Allen County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the "Solar Smash Bash" at the Greater Lima Region Park and Amphitheater the Saturday before the eclipse. With the anticipated influx of people in the region for the celestial event and for those who reside here, they wanted to provide some entertainment. There will be live music, food trucks, astronomy displays, and a special kids zone. Organizers say it will be a cosmic blast!
"We felt like we could host a big bash. A community event that's free of charge for everybody is welcome to come and so we're just really excited to be able to do this for the community," said Julie Klingler, Lima-Allen County Chamber of Commerce.
The "Solar Smash Bash" will be Saturday, April 6th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Greater Lima Region Park and Amphitheater, located at 7 Town Square, Lima, OH 45801, with RTA trolley service running throughout downtown to the event. The public is encouraged to attend.
