Lima brings Round Net Tournament to Star Spangled Spectacular

LIMA, OHIO (WLIO) - New to the Star Spangled Spectacular was a round-net tournament. Round-net is a sport that is growing in popularity around the country, especially in the Midwest. The Lima tournament drew teams from Kentucky, Cincinnati, and Columbus. All skill levels were invited to play in the bowl at Faurot Park. If you are wondering how you play it, the rules are pretty simple.

"So, it's a two-versus-two game. Sort of like volleyball, where you have three touches to get the ball back onto the net. You have no boundaries, and you basically go from there. It's a lot of fun," says Jackson Carpenter, organizer of the SSS Round Net Tournament. "I am hoping that they can see that everyone is competitive and lighthearted at the same time having fun. And maybe it will help them decide that they want to join some time."

Carpenter says they are going to try and make this an annual 4th of July event here in Lima.
