The PODS ordinance was defeated Monday evening by a 7 to 0 vote, which would have required residents to purchase a $60 permit effective for 30 days for the use of PODS on their property. While the ordinance was defeated, the focus on PODS regulation will remain for Lima City Council.

"There was a replacement ordinance on the agenda, and basically what it does is the final ordinance has input from one of the purveyors of the Portable on Demand Storage Units, and I believe it's a better piece of legislation that still accomplishes what council wanted which was to address the complaints and concerns that we heard from residents about these units being placed on people's properties and residential areas and just sitting there for month after month after month," says John Nixon, President, Lima City Council.

Lima City Council will be reviewing and discussing the new PODS ordinance in the near future.
