LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - A Lima councilman is making one last push to ask residents for any spare air conditioners they have to help those in need.
6th ward councilman Derry Glenn is asking residents who have any spare or left over air conditioning units to donate them to his program, where Glenn gives them to elderly or at risk residents with health problems in the summer heat. Glenn wants to thank those who have already donated but he is making one last push to get any more units that he can, as he is still getting calls from residents who need them.
"I'm still getting calls for air conditioners; if you've got any at the house, please give me a call," Glenn said. "You know, this heat wave continues going on, and we still need people calling about air conditioners. We've got people with diabetes, we've got people who have high blood pressure, we've got people having seizures. These are some of the things they're having right now. They can't afford to get air conditions, and I want to thank everyone who donated the air conditioners this year, you showed your hometown pride."
To donate an air conditioner, you can call councilman Derry Glenn at (419) 905-9572.
