"It is easy to come into work every day; I am certainly going to miss it because of the people I worked with and served. I served them; they don't serve me. I want to be their advocate. I want to be their champion. I wanted to make sure that everybody understood the remarkable work that they do and how they help the citizens of the city of Lima," says Andy Heffner, retiring after 29 ½ years. "The thing I would like the public to know, that these are the highest quality individuals that I have ever met in my life. There is quality; there is substance. They are fantastic people, and they take this job very seriously because they understand that this is a serious job."
Heffner says he is trying to figure out what his next chapter will be as he heads into retirement.
