Media Release from the Kiwanis Club of Lima

On Saturday, September 7, 2024, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, the Kiwanis Club of Lima will give away hundreds of  dresses to area students.  Diva’s Den will open at 9:00 AM at The Lima Masonic Center, 2165 N. Cole Street.  Hundreds of dresses will be on display, sorted by size, to be tried on, and taken home for free.  The gently used dresses are made available through donations.  All dresses are cleaned, thanks to a donated service by Duffy’s Cleaners, Shawnee Road.  A wide variety of styles and sizes are available, but organizers recommend coming early for the best choice.  This service is available to any area teen needing a dress for homecoming.

The Kiwanis Club of Lima is part of Kiwanis International, an organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world “one child and one community at a time.” The local club is proud to sponsor service leadership clubs for students in Lima City Schools, teaching young people to provide service to their school and the community as well as the Aktion Club at the Allen County Board of DD, a service club for adults with disabilities.  Members of Kiwanis are involved in numerous service projects throughout the community, state and nationally.  Community involvement is a crucial part of Kiwanis and informational meetings help members stay informed of events and changes that affect the community.
