Lima Memorial Women's Health Center has been designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology.
The center has received a three-year reaccreditation for breast ultrasound and breast ultrasound biopsy. The seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety.
"We have to supply images for accreditation to make sure the image quality is superb, that the masses that we are biopsying are, you know, within the window," said Darlene Weyer, Medical Director of the Women's Imaging Center for Lima Memorial Health System. "That the way that I'm doing the procedure is accurate. So the techs have worked very very hard in order to make sure we get this accreditation for our facility."
The gold seal was given after an extensive review of board-certified physicians and medical physicists.
