LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Lima Music Academy presented their spring recital.
Entitled "More Than Music", Lima Music Academy brought over 25 musicians to the Trinity United Methodist Church to perform their spring recital. Students ranged in age from as little as elementary school, up to adults, showcasing a diverse and talented group of performers. The event featured many different instruments. From piano to strings, each musician was able to show off their hard work. The lima music academy is a nonprofit dedicated to providing accessible music education to those who may not be able to afford it.
"If I was having any big feelings, like giving myself this space to just get it out. And so, for these kids, some of them are coming here, learning all of these new things, learning all about stuff they might not have known about themselves, things they're interested in. And, really, just to give them that extra umph to keep going," says Patricia Guice, board member of the Lima Music Academy.
