Service to mankind, that is what Sertoma stands for and the Lima Noon Sertoma Club has been dedicated to serving their community since its inception back in 1937.
Club members, children and their families coming together to celebrate one of the club's major service projects, the Summer Speech and Hearing Program. It offers parents the chance to enroll their child into a five week clinic to work on communications skills in areas they may be struggling. 48 area children participated in the program and Sertoma members are glad they can provide the service.
"When you have these parents or guardians come up and say, thank you so much for what you do, because they could not afford it some of them if we could not do this, and they are so thankful," said Erin Hardesty of the Lima Noon Sertoma Club.
The club has been offering this service to the community for more than 35 years.
