LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima Senior boys basketball team is doing some community outreach activities.
The players and Coach Simpson visited classrooms and read to students, helped them with holiday projects, and gave them advice on how to achieve their goals and succeed.
Members of the boys varsity basketball team, along with Head Coach Quincy Simpson, visited students from Unity Elementary School on Thursday. Lima Senior continually looks for ways to be involved with the youth in the school district, and for these basketball players, it's come full circle.
Members of the boys varsity basketball team visited students from Unity Elementary School on Thursday.
"It's all about each one, teach one. These guys that I brought over here was once one of these kids in these types of buildings. They were once first, second, third, fourth graders, sitting in some of these same seats. So it's good to be able to have a face come in that some of these kids are familiar with to bring some positive energy and at the same time create some opportunities for these kids to learn and feel connected to our players," said Quincey Simpson, Lima Senior Basketball head coach.
The Lima Senior boys basketball team will continue to visit other schools in the Lima City School District.
