LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A league that gives older local athletes a rare opportunity to continue playing football is getting in shape for their 3rd season.

Ohio Blitz is a Lima-based football team that plays in the United Indoor Football League, facing off against opponents from cities like Dayton, Columbus, and as far as Pittsburgh.
Players ages range from early 20s to late 30s. The league gives them the chance to have fun playing the game in an organized setting beyond their school-aged years or even continue working on their dreams of getting noticed by a bigger league.

"We're a relatively new team, we just started up last fall and we also played in the spring of this year. We're currently going into our winter season again. This is basically a platform for local athletes and upcoming talent to get a chance to move up to a higher level and possibly get paid big money," Harley Watkins, a player and co-owner of the Ohio Blitz said.
