Lima's National Champion minor league football team, the Warriors is hoping to utilize fire station 5 in Lincoln Park as their new headquarters.
The fire station could be used to store equipment and as a place where team members and their families could hang out.
News about the potential rental of the fire station drew the ire of third ward councilman Jesse Lowe, who referred the matter earlier to the Public Works Committee.
At the meeting tonight, Lowe questioned Parks Director Rick Stolly as to why he wasn't notified sooner in the process since the fire station lies in his ward.
The Public Works Committee did not take any action on Lowe's concerns.
During the regular council meeting Lowe voted against the deal, but the measure passed by a 7-1 vote.
