Mosher taught special education at Bath and Perry Schools for 15 years in the 1960s and 70s, impacting the lives of many that crossed his path.
Organizers say the bench represents the compassion and gentle care Mosher had for his students.
"I walked the Johnny Appleseed Park a lot during the summertime. I come around the All-Ability Playground, and I noticed there's a lot of people standing there. I noticed a big need for seating. My father was a special needs teacher years ago at Bath Schools and Perry for about 15 years, and I just wanted to do this in memory of him, said Mark Mosher, son of Hugh.

Melissa Ricker added, "This All-Ability Playground has been a labor of love for pretty much the entire community. The community has been very generous with their time and their money and being able to donate things out here. We are now embarking on a fundraising aspect, as far as being able to put in a restroom that's on the playground. The vision is to be able to have it within the playground fencing area and to include a universal changing table for people to be able to use, and then also for a drinking fountain to be available."
All funds will go towards the Marimor Legacy Foundation. You can visit the Allen County Board of DD website or scan the QR code to donate.
