LIMA (WLIO)Â -Â If you're a local high schooler interested in science technology, engineering, and math, the Lima First Robotics Program may be just the thing for you.
The students are currently in the process of building a "Kit Robot", as well as adding on more parts for their overall mission this year. The robots will compete against each other to move objects in a competition next month in Cleveland.
"One of the really cool things about First Robotics is they are all about coopetition and working with each other. As you can see, we only have a couple people on our team, and it's a free program. We only have a couple people interested because they think it's just for "science-ey" people, but it actually does include the arts," said Lauren Averesch, First Robotics Mentor.
The robotics team meets Monday through Thursday from January to March at the YMCA, and it's free of charge to join. The Lima Family YMCA is located at 345 S Elizabeth St, Lima, OH 45801.
