Lorenzo Young in Court for Motion Hearing

A Lima man who faces a variety of felony charges related to his alleged involvement in promoting prostitution and human trafficking was in an Allen county courtroom today(4/22/16).

The attorney for Lorenzo Young filed a motion to suppress statements his client made while being questioned on two separate occasions in early February. A hearing on that matter took place in Allen County Common Pleas Court this afternoon. At issue is whether the defendant was read his rights during questioning. Lima Police Detective Steve Stechschulte testified during the hearing that Young had been mirandized on February 1st and on February 5th when Young was questioned. A DVD recording was made of both sessions and was entered into evidence.

Judge David Cheney made no decision on the motion to suppress. He'll view the recordings and is taking the matter under advisement.
