Luau Launch kicks off I Love Lima Week at Jameson Manor

After years of planning and campaigning, the Lima Young Professionals kicks off its I Love Lima celebration.

The organization held a ceremonial ribbon cutting and Luau Launch to open the week of festivities. The Lima YP chose Jameson Manor to hold the event, given it's importance within the city. I Love Lima week was created to increase community pride and raise funds for Love Lima initiatives of enhancing and revitalizing our neighborhoods. What was simply an idea trying to come to life, now, the week-long party is here.

"Now it's a real event with real locations. It finally came to be that there's so much to love about Lima that we wanted to showcase it," said Brian Baker, Lima Young Professionals President. "Whether its the YMCA or local restaurants or the Lima Locos baseball team or playing at our parks with our kids, there's always so much to do and celebrate here, and now we're doing it."

Just a few of this week's events include a free Family Game Night at the Lima Mall starting at 5:00 Tuesday night, a Business Olympics on Wednesday, and a "Mean Green Golf Classic" this Saturday. There's still time to register and sign up for these event, just head to the Lima-Allen County Chamber of Commerce website.
