It's late March and activities are in full swing for Developmental Disabilities Month in Allen County.
"Celebrate Community" is this year's theme and the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities is inviting the community to take part. An open house is going to be held on March 29th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at their facilities on Ada Road. Those attending will get the chance to tour both Marimor School and Marimor Industries.
"We do still have a home base there so it's really good to still see where Marimor School is. Many of our staff that are there for early intervention, our service and support administration, and so we think that a lot people identify with our buildings out there, the Allen County Board of DD building, plus the Marimor School, Marimor Industries, so we're going to be really glad to have them out there to see where it is and what we do," said Theresa Schnipke, Superintendent of Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
Schnipke says the community is important to what they do and how they serve their clients.
