LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima community gathered to kick off a healthy and happy holiday season with the 2023 Healthy Families Expo.
The expo presented by Mercy Health and the Activate Allen County Executive Council featured various festive activities, including a chance to meet Santa and his live reindeer, a photo booth, face painting, and a bounce house. Attendees also had the opportunity to receive food from the West Ohio Food Bank and explore the many community vendors offering family resources.
"Here today, we have Mercy Health doing assessments and screenings. We have W.I.C.; you can refill your W.I.C. cards here today. We have Help Me Grow; we have P.A.S.S. and the Mental Health Board, and we have Behavioral Health Services. So, a wide variety of different options are available today. So, we are able to come and talk to all of our vendors and learn about some resources that you may not know about in the community and how they can help you live a healthier life." says Kayla Monfort, Co-Director of Activate Allen County.
Additionally, raffle prizes were awarded throughout the Healthy Families Expo, and Stedic Music provided live entertainment.
