Spring is almost here and for many families that means Spring Break is coming up on the calendar.
Based on advanced bookings, AAA says that Cancun, Montego Bay, Rom, and Dublin are among the most popular vacation destinations for 2018. Almost 90 million Americans plan to go on family vacations this year, but it is the younger generations leading the pack. At 44%, millennials are leading the pack in planning family vacations for the year. Lima AAA Store Manager Cindy Nelson says they are looking to make some memories with the people closest to them.
"A lot of millennials are gonna be doing a lot of traveling, a lot of family vacations," says Nelson. "They're realizing the importance of doing that family vacation, building those memories, and they're taking three, four vacations a year just to get that under their belts."
But those extra vacations are not always week-long trips out of the country. Nearly two-thirds of family vacationers are planning on staying stateside and seeing the sights that are a little closer to home.
