PERRY TOWNSHIP, OH (WLIO) - Multiple agencies responded to a two-alarm house fire this morning in Allen County.
The blaze broke out at a home on 210 Amherst Road in Perry Township roughly around 7:30 Wednesday morning. Two residents were sleeping when the fire started, but a working smoke detector alerted them and they escaped the home.
Heavy smoke was seen coming from the basement area. Perry Township declared a second alarm with mutual aid response from Shawnee Township, Cridersville, and Uniopolis. There was heavy fire damage to the basement and part of the first floor. One person was transported for smoke inhalation. The cause is undetermined.
